Turnitin is an online service that manages the process of submitting and marking digitally produced assignments. Turnitin encourages best practices for using and citing other people’s written material. Each time you submit an assignment to Turnitin it will produce an originality report. This report shows any text within your assignment that can be found elsewhere. This does not mean that the assignment is plagiarised but it does show you and your teacher where you have sourced your information from. Turnitin may also find material in your submission which has been quoted and referenced.
